After I decided to set myself up as a freelance animator which I do now. I specialise in 2D and stop motion animation. My main influences are Jan Svankmajer and John Kricfalusi (JohnK).

When Star Wars Meets The Lion King, Fan Animation done in Animate Pro by Jason Venus

NAME: Jason Venus

TITLE: When Star Wars meets The Lion King (Fan Animation)

DESCRIPTION: In this short Fan Animation the title pretty much says it all, for some reason i always felt the Lion King and Star wars had some common themes, the whole idea of Darth Vader presenting Luke Skywalker as the prodigal son on pride rock just seemed to tickle me. I plan to do a few others around the Star Wars theme as i grew up on this stuff and i love it.

ARTIST: Been doodling and drawing cartoons since the dark ages. Every single one of my school books had flip animations in the corner of every page and the covers plastered in drawings. Always wanted to animate, the Toon Boom software was so intuitive it has allowed me to pick up animating quite quickly, i still have a long way to go and a lot to learn but i’m having fun, and i think that’s important! I am based in Somerset, in the UK.

Soccer Dad! done in Animate Pro by Sebastian Foxworth

NAME: Sebastian Foxworth

TITLE: Soccer Dad!

DESCRIPTION: Anticipated animated series and award winning short about a work from home dad whose old school values often clash with his kids new school ways. He’s African American like Dr. Bill Cosby… and that’s where the similarity ends. His family is an interracial tribe consisting of many diverse personalities all under one roof.

ARTIST: An award winning writer and now animator who feels that life is full of entertainment; good, bad, sad and funny. In creating “Soccer Dad!” I felt there was a need for a family animated sitcom that is edgy but not raunchy. Something that everyone in a household could sit and watch together while being highly entertained.

I used Toon Boom Animate Pro 2. I took special time to watch the tutorials and learn everything. The software is so awesome that I won my first film festival that I entered (Atlantic City Cinefest/Downbeach Film Festival). Toon Boom has made it possible that I was able to do the entire project on my own and am now working on a new episode. Hands down this software is a life saver.

Cowboy Teddy done in Animate Pro by Robbie McIntosh

NAME: Robbie McIntosh

TITLE: Cowboy Teddy

DESCRIPTION: A stranger rides into town (Cowboy Teddy) for what purpose?
Commissioned as an educational vehicle to encourage good virtues in young persons between 3 and 5 and point toward a series of e-books on the same subject. I used Animate Pro 2. iMovie was used to to edit and composite the scenes.

ARTIST: I am a cartoonist illustrator who has always fascinated and wanted to do animation in particular traditional 2D animation.
In the past it [2D animation] has been either beyond my budget, both in time and finance. But with modern technology and brilliant software from the likes of Toon Boom, that mimics the traditional process, one person can do pretty much everything that a small studio can accomplish.
